Tresta shelties was started in 1996 in Victoria, BC. I had my first champion out of my first litter of two that year. I have owned #1 sheltie in Canada 2004 and 2005, BIS BISS Am Can Ch Classy Tresta Bronson ROMC, co owned with handler Donna Roadhouse. I bred #3 sheltie in Canada 2017, BIS BISS Tresta Uptown Charm ROMC who was #2 puppy 2016.

Because of my business, which takes me and my young family around the world, I have partnered with many breeders over time to continue my involvement in this wonderful breed. I have no traditional kennels, all my dogs are raised under foot and well socialized with kids and outings.

I got my first sheltie at the age 12 in Victoria, BC. His name was Prince, High in Trial, Little Prince Petra CDX UD. He was too big to be a show dog, among other faults, but I did obedience to Utility level and Agility and Fast Ball. In 1995 I decided to add a show dog. Not easy getting someone to sell you a show dog. The first one got was too big. The next one was a hair over 13 inches, but I bred her anyway and had my first homebred champion, Ch Tresta First Impression, Brady.  Brady was bred a few times and produced Ch Tresta Unique Choice.

Those early dogs were out of Am Can Ch Goldenhylite's The Phantom, who I had the pleasure of seeing here in BC when he was campaigned by Donna Roadhouse. I continued with those lines for a while and bred Ch Tresta Cassandra. I loved Am Can Ch Trevanne's Windswept and bred to Ch Bonnyville Fairfax Nighthawk and his son Ch Westpointe's Backalley Raphsody ROMC which resulted in a few successes, Ch Hiddenvalley Tresta Tatonka. I dabbled in tricolors and then leased a blue merle from Carol Craswell of Kelbren shelties, and had Ch Kelbren Tatianna.

As I read my Pacesetter sheltie magazines I admired Classy Shelties, Francine Laurente. She had stunning dogs, and I wanted one. I was lucky to get two brothers sent out west in 1999 at age 4 months who went on to become great dogs, Am Can Ch Classy Tresta's Torment who was sold to Mary Couzens after he won his class at American nationals, and my heart dog Am Can Ch Classy Tresta Bronson ROMC who was #1 sheltie in Canada in 2005 and in 2006 produced #1 sheltie Ruckus, Ch Talamar Raze Aruckus At Lorwin.  And the lovely Brian, BIS BISS Am GCH Braeleen Foreign Intrigue ROM.  Both brothers won their classes at American Nationals in different years.

When I moved to San Francisco in 2005 I got to discover a whole new group of shelties and breeders. I fell in love with a puppy at a match that Yvonne Samuelson was showing in 2008, I asked to co own her, Am Ch Sea Haven Tresta On My Toes ROM, "Margot" who is retired with Yvonne. I would describe her as my foundation bitch for the dogs I have now. One of her daughters was Am Can Ch Tresta Giselle ROMC. She recently retired but I currently have my boy Gaston co owned with Donna Roadhouse and two lovely daughters, Pippa and Share co owned with Joanne Howe.

I moved back to Victoria in 2012 and was ready for a new show bitch, along with my dear GiGi. Having seen the beautiful PaRay dogs in California, I purchased a puppy, Ch PaRay's Barcelona. Since I have settled in Victoria I have been able to focus more on the dogs and work on building up my breeding program. I made some inquisitions, from Laureate and Highledge and hopeful for their contributions.
